The FOX Showroom Pub
The
Fox found its residence at The Red Lion Inn during the
mid 1980's. (The hotel was erected in 1967) Prior to The
Fox becoming naked as we currently know it, the pub was
home to a steakhouse for many years. Booking exotic dancers
exclusively through Stripper Entertainment since changing
to an exotic format in 1987, the bar flourished throughout
the 90's featuring A-Circuit dancers. The Fox fast became
a starting point for many up n' coming superstars in the
adult entertainment industry. A multitude of Playboy Bunnies,
Penthouse Pets, Hustler Honey's and adult film stars all
got their start at The Fox.
One of the last strip clubs to feature a bath tub on the
stage, wet and wild encores were always a crowd pleaser
at The Fox. Chants of "Shower! Shower! Shower!"
eventually played favourite to audience demands, and the
bath tub saw it's final days in the latter part of 1993.
The original stand-up cylindrical shower that accompanied
the bath tub was replaced by a bird bath, and shower shows
remained a staple for The Fox encores.
During the Commonwealth Games of August 1994, The Fox
hosted it's first Amateur Contest to a full house and
a line up of 6 contestants. Rene Summers was crowned Ms.
Nude Amateur Victoria and a new chapter had begun for
The Fox. Amateur Nights were held four times annually
and gradually grew from a one night stand into a three
night endeavor. All of Western Canada's new talent took
their first dance steps on The Fox Pub stage.
The latter part of the 90's saw business at an all time
high. The Fox set high standards within the exotic entertainment
industry via such promotions as; Octopussy, The Dirty
Dozen, Fox Hunt Rookie Competition, Ms. Nude BC Preliminaries
and Annual Wet Tee's. Of course the Amateur Nights remained
the favourite amongst local Victorians.
Sat, November 10, 2001 at 1:15 AM - a fire was

Pub. Within an hour Diego's and the Red Lion's Cold Beer

Victoria Fire Department stabilized the inferno after hours
of fighting the blaze, but the damage was done. The Fox
was officially closed down.
